The portfolio is edited by Brother Benedict Simmonds, who held staff positions at the New York Botanical Garden; in the Special Collections and Editor's Office of the The New York Public Library; and was Librarian of the Grolier Club, before becoming a Director of the Eakins Press Foundation in 1974. In 1983 he entered Holy Cross Abbey, and in 1989 made his solemn vows as a Cistercian monk.
